Mother’s Day 2026

Today we celebrated Mother’s Day with a mindful drawing activity inspired by neuro-graphic art. The warm and friendly atmosphere made the experience even more special. It was a relaxing and creative way to connect, reflect and enjoy the moment together. We appreciate all the Mother’s who attended.

Taiko Drumming 2026

The students were visited by Taiko (Japanese) Drumming this May. Our students had the chance to learn about traditional Japanese drumming, which exudes power passion & precision. Taiko drumming is energetic with visually appealing movement that resembles a dance choreography.
Workshops in schools use taiko to teach students rhythm, timing, improvisation, and appreciation for international heritage.

SEDA Basketball 2026

Every Thursday for about a month, our school has SEDA Basketball friends come to join the children in learning motor skills with basketballs.

The students have a chance to interact with high school students who are studying a Sports Development Program at SEDA College.

Our students have a blast when they arrive, from- shooting hoops, bouncing, throwing, even rolling the balls on the ground. Whether it is individual 1-1 or a few students grouped together. It’s great to see the smiles on our students’ faces when they are here.

ANZAC Day Service 2025

On Friday 25th April the students and staff at PPSS came together for an ANZAC Day service held at school. All the students worked together in their class to create a beautiful wreath which they placed under our flags.

Our students led the ceremony with confidence and respect. They began with an Acknowledgement of Country, followed by the reading of poems and the Ode of Remembrance. A minute’s silence was observed, and the service concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.

We are incredibly proud of our students for the respect they showed throughout the ceremony.

Winds of Joy 2025

Our senior students had a fantastic time participating in the Winds of Joy program run by the Making Waves foundation. Despite the cloudy weather, the students enjoyed steering the ship and feeling the wind rush by in the �鶹��Ƶ bay.

Harmony Day 2025

The school was a sea of orange as we came together to celebrate Harmony Day! It was fantastic to see so many students proudly supporting cultural diversity and inclusivity.

The parade was a highlight, with each group putting on a fantastic performance and showing off their impressive dance moves. After the celebrations, some families stayed to enjoy a morning tea with Jaryd, our Mental Health Practitioner, and NDIS Navigator.

A big thank you to all the families who joined us to celebrate and show their support!

Arts Festival

We are overjoyed to be back with the Arts Festival again this year! We are overwhelmingly proud of the students and all the hard work that they put in to everything this year. Each student contributed to make the event such a success, from performances, to creating artwork – the festival is truly a reflection of the spirit of our school. The collaborative effort from all staff brought the festival together, and we look forward to next year!

Blackwood Camp

In term 4, with the warmer weather, middle and senior students had the opportunity to go on overnight camps at the Blackwood Special Schools Outdoor Education Camp supported by a variety of familiar staff. Whilst on camp the students demonstrated teamwork, communication and resilience as they eagerly participated in the activities, work in teams as well as be pushed a little out of their comfort zones. The students had the opportunity to participate in the high ropes course, bushwalking, team building games, bike riding, panning for gold, yabbying and archery. The Blackwood Camp staff were incredibly engaging and helpful, and the students warmed to them all. Back at camp, students helped out with cooking and chores such as washing and drying dishes, keeping their room tidy, as well as helping pack the bus. All camps would report that regardless of fatigue at the end, the bonds created, the experiences had, and the memories made make it a great time for both students and staff.

Winds of Joy

Groups 5, 8 & 11 were given the opportunity to set sail aboard a large racing yacht with The Winds of Joy program. Guided by skilled and engaging volunteer sailors, each student had the chance to steer the boat and navigate the open waters. Smiles were all around as we made our way along the Yarra River. Feeling the wind blow through our hair as the sails were raised was an experience enjoyed by all involved!
